ANIMAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
The program is limited to healthy cats with no signs of disease.
Age and weight requirements: Cat must be at least 2 months old and weigh over 2 pounds.
The examining veterinarian may disqualify any cat if, in his/her opinion, the animal is not medically sound for surgery.

Low Cost Spay & Neuter Program for Cats
Hands-4-Paws has partnered with the Illinois Student Chapter of the Association of Shelter Medicine to offer low cost spay and neuters for cats in Douglas County. We hope you will participate in this program and will encourage others to participate as well. Surgeries will be performed by veterinary students under the close supervision of a licensed veterinarian.
Cost of Surgery
This program is open to individuals who receive public assistance or meet our low income level. Please contact us for more information about low income levels. Bring proof of your assitance program or low income.
Cats can be spayed for $45 and neutered for $30.
Examples of public assistance include:

- Link Card / SNAP
- TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families)
- Public Housing Programs, including Housing Choice Vouchers
